Welcome to our Club Website
Walton & Kirton Badminton Club is a friendly club of
appoximately 25 members, both young and old and has existed for more than 50
years. Club nights and home matches are played at Walton Church Hall, near Felixstowe in Suffolk. It is considered by many to be the perfect badminton hall, with good lighting, a high ceiling and clear markings on a wooden parquet floor. There is only one court, and this does tend to create the need for competitive badminton to be played.
Membership enquiries
We are actively seeking new members to join the club and would welcome any enquiries. Ages from 14 to 80 ! for friendly club badminton or more competitive league badminton in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Club Nights and Match Nights
Club nights are held 7.30pm until 9.30pm, every Tuesday & Friday, and our season lasts from September through until April. Home matches are usually played on Monday evenings starting at 7.00 p.m.throughout the season.

Club Notices
The Wesel Singles Mens Tournament was completed at the end of April and was won by Ian Cobb - again! Well done Ian. Sadly not enough ladies entered for their singles tournament.
The Howlett Cup mixed doubles tournament was played on Friday 1st February 2008. There was a good turnout with thanks to Dani for making up the last pairing. After some close games the well deserved and outright winners were Margaret Lamacraft with a little help from Ian Cobb !
The Mixed Plate tournament was played on Tuesday 19th February 2008. With good handicapping there were some very close games played. The well deserved winners were Philip Lou and Margaret(ho hum, some more silverware) Lamacraft!
The Presidents Cup, Mens and Ladies Doubles tournaments, were played on Friday 28th March 2008. The eventual winners were - Mens Doubles, Tim Emery & Cedric Hooper, Ladies Doubles, Alison Christian & Sheena Wood. The majority of games were very close, helped by accurate handicapping.
The IDL PLAYFORD TROPHY competition - was played against YMCA (away) on 18th December 2007. Despite a good effort we were up against the cream of Suffolk county players and finished 38 points behind. The handicapping was fair but YMCA were just too good on the night.
Please note that Daniel Hooper, one of our ex young stars, has now been placed in the top 100 of the national rankings for men's singles. (EADT 20.2.07) - Well done Dan!

A QUIZ NIGHT was arranged at the club on Friday 4th April. Alison did a wonderful job as quizmaster/ mistress ? and it was well attended raising a £6 profit for club funds.
As last year's bike ride was so successful, Tim will be arranging another one during the early summer. It will be a little longer than before but with plenty of 'pit stops' along the way. Children welcome. Details will be put on the noticeboard nearer the time.
Our Summer Club will start on Monday 12th May. £15 only for the summer season.
