Welcome to our Club Website
Walton & Kirton Badminton Club is a friendly club of
appoximately 25 members, both young and old and has existed for more than 50
years. Club nights and home matches are played at Walton Church Hall, near Felixstowe in Suffolk. It is considered by many to be the perfect badminton hall, with good lighting, a high ceiling and clear markings on a wooden parquet floor. There is only one court, and this does tend to create the need for competitive badminton to be played.

Ages from 14 to 80 ! for friendly club badminton or more competitive league badminton in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Club Notices
Please note that all the club competitions have been cancelled this year through lack of entries.
The IDL Playford Trophy competition was played away against Gainsborough Club on Wednesday 7th October 2009. It was a hard fought tournament with Gainsborough just winning by 6 points.
Please note that the proposed new hall extension has now been funded and work commenced on Monday 12th October 2009. This will mean much better toilet facilities for members and proper storage for club kit. All being well there will be little disruption to badminton play. Our offer to the Church committee to provide labour to help with the painting and decorating still stands.
I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone at the club for your kind words of encouragement during my treatment for cancer / heart attack. Your offers of help and transportation are much appreciated and no doubt I shall be taking you up on this during the next couple of months or so. I am making good progress. The heart is ticking nicely and I’ve come through the first 12 days of chemo a little lighter (good job too, you may say !) and getting stronger day by day. I plan playing badminton next season, so watch out ! Jon Anderson
